Are there any games which use mah jong equipment that are not mah jong
in one of its variation?
I've tried to search the net but with no result.

I'm interested expecially in non-solitary games! Thank you -bici

Awesome site. The material is well organized and really interesting!

Regarding the topic, I'm still puzzled to discover there are just few
games you can play with mahjong tiles: it's like to say you can play
only poker with a 52 cards standard deck.

And a last question: have you tried to play "PAIHINMIN"? I wonder if
it fun at all and if it is a total gamble or if there is space from
some skill.

I'd also like (how many things!) to know a little bit more of the
SZECHUAN style.

I thank you in advance, keep it up with your awesome site!

Yes. I'm not a big fan of trumping games.

Maybe you ought to see if you can download a Shisensho game. There are some
links in FAQ 12 (a whole Shisensho section down near the bottom).

Ciao!

Since the issue is wearing away towards off-topic themes, perhaps the OP
would be interested in this:?

Basically "American Mahjong" is such a game as it can hardly be
considered mahjong.

If you can read German, or can babelfish, there's rules for
DomiJongg at http://www.ebecker.de/djongg/. Basically a
domino game with mah jong tiles. It allows branches at
flower and season tiles, so can result in up to 10 open ends
eventually. 2 or more players.

(Warning: the last diagram for his example games gets
messed-up somehow in Firefox 2.0.0.9. Internet Explorer
shows it properly.)

The Firefox display problem was fixed in 2.0.0.10. Too bad I can't read
German better.
